Still
Now imagine someone who was just admitted to the hospital, very obvious they need to be still and watching them rip off the tubes, jump off the bed proclaiming they don’t have time for this.
There are times God allows life to put us on our backs to allow for spiritual healing to take place. But the humanity in us raises a rebellious ruckus. “I don’t have time for this!” We rip the drip saline of prayer out of our arms. The cast of focused worship is thrown to the ground then we march through the doors of the hospital, vowing never to return, claiming that there are people in the church/hospital who are out to get us. Friends, we have to be still for healing. Especially when it feels inconvenient to us and to things we want to get done. Our Doctor has made a diagnosis, he knows the necessary procedure, but He will never force it upon us. It may be just a pill, it could be a few stitches, but sometimes He requires bed rest. Stillness . Are you resisting “a rest”? Is your schedule dictating your movements more than God? Are you addicted to activity? Take a knee, join His huddle, make the time to be still and heal. It just might save your eternal life.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31
