Stand Still
King Jehoshaphat sought the King of kings and his army was delivered. The prophet of the Lord directed them to set themselves and stand still and watch the salvation of the Lord. Basically, God asked them to **stand at attention**. They did just that. Obedience was the order of the day, faithfulness was the standard that they bore and God rewarded that with a massive victory. Not a single soldier from Jerusalem lost his life. The men of Moab, Ammon and Mount Seir lay dead for what seemed to be miles.
It must have been quite difficult to obey a command that demanded that you not move during combat. Seriously God…combat is all about movement. Strike and counter-strike. The art of war is composed of action, how can we not move?!?! None of these questions were asked. The mindset was absolute obedience. This obedience though came after a seeking, a searching, a desire to know God’s will in the matter. But be careful of what you pray for, God just might show up. Jehoshaphat diligently sought God’s direction and he got it. The answer was pregnant with clarity as there was no denying God’s direction whatsoever.
Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.
Whatever the form the enemy is coming at you, seek God. Marriage, school, finances, children, job. Prepare for battle with prayer, execute His directives in praise. Stand still and watch victory manifest itself in ways you can never fathom or understand. Sometimes the timing of deliverance may not match our schedule but God has NO intentions to leave you struggling forever. Even if the total and ultimate victory is on the other side of the grave, like John the Baptist, Stephen or Jesus. Be ye assured that eternity guards the reward of the righteous.

The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel. And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.
