Keep it to Form
True heroes are visionaries, they don’t necessarily see the future BEFORE it happens. They see it HAPPENING. Past, present and future become three shades of the same reality. For example, as Bolt said to Weir (THE PRESENT), Keep it to form (THE PAST), we are going to make it 1,2,3 (THE FUTURE). Seeing the future as a present reality based on past performance of course may not seem like a unique trait. But consistently performing at this level is what separates the good from the great. Usain went from being the first athlete to win the 200m Olympic final back to back. Then he went on to winning it three times…straight.
What we tend to forget in our spiritual journey is that God also sees our future as a present reality. While we are caught up in the storms of now, He stands at the horizon, seeing the entire path. Moses stood trembling at the edge of the Red Sea, hearing the thundering hooves of Pharaoh’s army behind him, but God was already parting the waters ahead. David, small and seemingly insignificant, faced the giant with a sling and five smooth stones, but God had already crowned him king in His divine vision. Your present struggles – that impossible situation at work, the relationship hanging by a thread, the diagnosis that steals your breath – God sees beyond these moments. He stands in your future victory, calling you to keep it to form, to remember His faithfulness in seasons past, as He whispers, “we are going to make it.” True faith means living today from the vantage point of tomorrow’s deliverance, trusting that the God who spoke worlds into existence has already spoken your breakthrough into reality.
