Just Because
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;”
God’s love is like the undiscriminating sunlight that does not hold back on where the photons of forgiveness, grace, compassion, empathy and blessings fall. They just fall.
Over time though, for a relationship between child and parent to grow and persist, it means that the child has to submit, to the authority of the parent. That submission helps to keep the channels of communication open. It allows for the physical intimacy of shared space, the love continues to flow and the relationship deepens. As that relationship strengthens and grows, something beautiful and miraculous happens. this love becomes so abundant it naturally overflows.
The next time someone doubts God’s love for them let them know before they were given a physical form, God’s heart had a place for them. The next time you feel far from Him, remember that He did not move. You did. The next time you get that sinking feeling His presence has somehow left you; STOP, LOOK back from where you came, LISTEN for His calm steady voice calling out to you. He is ready to love you…again.
