Intent
But of course, the ultimate power is when You are able to initiate and fully execute a miracle sequence without even thinking about it.
The Son of God was at the height of His popularity. Almost everyone knew of His healing power so he was called upon by a rabbi with a dying 12 year old daughter. As Jesus’ entourage tried to make it’s way towards where a known miracle was to be executed another miracle was wrought but without Jesus’ known intent. As her feeble fingers barely grazed the edge of His robe she felt instantly whole. New. Delivered.
“My power has left me” were the words that escaped the lips of Jesus as he turned around to see who in this crazy throng of humanity was able to extract His miraculous energy. You see the thing is… one cannot make a withdrawal without the knowledge of the bank. Twelve years of suffering ended in an instant. The transaction paid only by belief, was executed by a desperate heart. For faith was the only currency she had left. She was intentional and Divinity’s healing power faced no resistance as it flowed to the point of greatest need. Like a dam bursting from it’s confines.
We diminish Divinity’s power when our faith is dialed down to scarce moments of devotion with menial and delayed “spiritual activism”. God so desperately wants to reveal Himself to us but we are so blinded by our “activism” and lacking the deep abiding power of true transformation. May we one day, reach out with radical intent to be made whole. May the blood letting end as our eyes connect with His. As the noise of the throng becomes a faint whisper, let the world know it was not a superstitious connection with mere woven cloth. It was a bleeding heart screaming for release that found its relief at the feet of Jesus. Be intentional in your pursuit, for the dams of Divinity are waiting to burst forth in your favour.
