Find X
Finding x has become the endless quest of a million minds that would rather be eating cotton-candy, in a hammock, at the beach. Why is x always lost, and why do “I” have to find him. Wait that’s it…Maybe I should spend the time finding “y”.
When unknown occurrences fall into our lives the first question is usually, why? Finding the why, consumes our thoughts, burns into our conscience and leaves a mark as we try to understand…why. Might I humbly suggest in situations like this we go back to finding x…the unknown. In this case the unknown being God.
Another way our Math teachers put it was, solve this equation for x. I put it to you. The next time you are tempted to ask why, solve the situation for X. Search the pattern for Him. Find the Lord’s tracks into this episode of your life, and follow them out. The best way to learn His Pattern Language is daily exposure to His Word.
David facing Goliath, solve this situation for X.
Three Hebrew boys about to be burnt to a crisp; solve the situation for X.
Moses at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh on his tail; solve the situation for X.
Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane; solve the situation for X.
You can’t go wrong if you read the text. Some will disregard it as being outdated. An book filled with fairy-tales and “fululoops” (yes that’s a word). The truth is, there is no other way you will ever find X if you do not read His book of Why’s and Wherefores.

Solve this for x:
And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. - 1 Chronicles 20:6
