A Work of Art

A few years ago after Sabbath lunch, I found myself as a passenger for once, face pressed against the car window.

That’s when I caught Him at work in His studio. He moved with purpose, reaching for particular brushes while staying faithful to His signature palette - blues bleeding into whites, reds melting into yellows, oranges dancing with deepening blacks.

That’s when I caught Him at work in His studio. He moved with purpose, reaching for particular brushes while staying faithful to His signature palette - blues bleeding into whites, reds melting into yellows, oranges dancing with deepening blacks.

He’s usually camera-shy while working. But without my usual imposing camera, I became bold with my iPhone, stealing a quiet moment of His creative process. As the scene unfolded before me, I realized He wasn’t merely painting another sunset - He was capturing the essence of my day in strokes of light.

The oranges mirrored children chasing shadows across sun-drenched grass. The blue echoed the carefully laid tablecloth where our feast had been spread moments before. In the whites, I saw the glisten of tears as fathers embraced sons, While the bursts of yellow and red brought back memories of joyful sibling chatter and romantic moments between lovers as they planned their shared future for their wedding the next day.

As I studied His canvas, a special understanding washed over me: here was the Master Artist, weaving each seemingly disconnected thread of our lives into something magnificent and spectacular. As each stroke builds on the one before it, the realization became more profound: patience is a “must-have” if we are to trust His process.

Perhaps you find yourself in an unfinished scene, wondering how all of these random pieces fit. Remember this: God’s brush never stills. His vision unfolds with perfect timing, and the masterpiece He sees in you, is slowly but surely still emerging, stroke by stroke, day by day. The finished work will be worth every moment waited. Watch Him work, He is making something amazingly new in you.

Look! I’m creating something brand new! Really, you can’t  see it?Come, Look good! I’m making a way out of the wilderness, and in the desert...a river.
